Who are we / Quienes somos

The Team / El Equipo

Juntos

We have seen and felt injustice in our state and country. We have watched our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers, sons and daughters treated like outcasts and criminals. We have seen our relatives locked up for no crime other than freely seeking a better life. We have been victims of perpetual discrimination, racial profiling and suspicion. We do not accept this. We demand equality.
We will not stand idly by while our relatives’ families are being torn apart. We will not stand idly by while children are attacked with hate in school.
To you who cannot defend yourself out of fear: we will defend you because no human being is illegal. You were born with the inalienable right of your humanity.

We stand with the Native Americans who are remaining peaceful in prayer while suffering and enduring brutal attacks at the hands of militarized police, National Guard and corporate mercenaries merely for protecting their right to drinking water and the sanctity of their ancestral lands. We believe with you, that water is life. We stand with you in solidarity.

We support black men and women whose families and lives have been torn apart because of a racist criminal justice system. We recognize that the centuries-long struggle of black people in America to win equality is still being fought. We join you in your fight because we believe Black Lives Matter.

We will not remain silent if people are banned from our country, or forced to register because of their chosen religion.
We believe that all oppressed people share at least two things: their oppression, and the fight they share together for justice and equality.
In Solidarity,
Juntos
